For independent lodges, outfitters and outposts
Would AI recommend your lodge?
Travellers now ask ChatGPT and Google’s AI where to book their fishing trip, and get back a short list of names. The lodges on that list get the call. iFishCanada builds and runs the marketing system that puts your lodge on it, on a website you own.
3 of 400+
When the Executive Director of the Sunset Country Travel Association asked ChatGPT about lodges in the region, only three surfaced.
The field research
What 109 lodge websites showed
I scanned 109 Northwestern Ontario lodge websites to see what separates the few that get recommended. Field medians from a single-scan snapshot:
42%
of pages are thin, under 250 words
8%
of pages are written at depth, 800+ words
354
words on the average page
43%
of pages duplicate other pages on the same site
Depth is what gets a lodge recommended.
The one operator verified as cited by AI ranks among the most duplicated sites in the field. What it has is depth: enough specific facts about lakes, flight times, cabin capacity, species, seasons and packages for an AI tool to answer a traveller’s question with confidence.
Start with your own numbers
Questions worth asking about your lodge
Your answers are the only numbers that count. If they point to a gap, the free calculator puts a figure on it using your own cabins and rates.
Open the Lodge Revenue Calculator- How many weeks a season do you wish were fuller?
- What is one group of four worth to you over a season?
- If you were missing even one group of four a month, what would that add up to in a year?
- Where are your next-generation guests finding you today?
- How often do you answer the same questions by phone and email?
- What happens after a guest goes home?
- How much do you spend on marketing that stops working when you stop paying?
- How would you know which marketing produced a booking?
When the money is spent, what do you still own?
Paid ads, booth space and paid placements are rented attention: their value ends when the spending ends. Owned assets keep working. The system moves your marketing steadily toward assets you keep.
Rented attention
- Paid ads
- Sport show booth space
- Paid directory placements
- Temporary promotions
Owned assets
- Website pages that answer real trip-planning questions
- A FAQ library guests and AI tools can quote
- Your guest email list
- Reviews displayed on your own site
- A knowledge base of everything that makes your lodge distinct
How it works
Your complete system, live by Day 30
Every site goes through 13 build passes in five stages, then gets 12 more days of refinement after launch.
1
Learn the lodge
Recorded owner interviews become your knowledge base. Visibility analysis and keyword research find the searches your best guests use.
2
Organize your images
Photos from every source, catalogued with filenames, alt text and captions. About 88 placed at launch.
3
Design and structure
Your own visual identity on 8 keystone pages, from Home to Availability and Booking.
4
Write and connect
Up to 22 pages written from your interviews, with deeper pages at 1,200–1,600 words of planning facts.
5
Guest systems and launch
Booking calendar, trip emails, FAQ, reviews, weather, voice and chat assistant, lead tracking. Tested, then launched.
After launch
What runs for you every month
Two new content assets
48 over the term, each answering a measured guest question or filling a gap in what AI tools can find about you.
Keyword and statistics review
The searches showing up, the pages gaining ground and the questions guests ask decide what gets written next.
The knowledge-gap loop
Questions the assistant couldn’t answer are logged. You supply the fact once, and every future guest gets a better answer.
A monthly report
Where you appear, AI mentions and citations, what was published, traffic and leads, plus what to keep, improve and test.
Systems care
Calendar, email sequences, FAQ, reviews, weather and assistant kept running and current.
A Growth Review every six months
A recorded 30–40 minute conversation about what worked and what you’d improve next, added to your knowledge base.

The Founding Lodge Program
Eight lodges, one published case study
This year I’m taking eight lodges through the complete system. Their results become a published case study, and they receive the full build at the founding rate, locked for their 24-month term.
I carry the build cost up front, and you pay for it over time. Your first payment starts the project; the second comes at Day 30, when your site launches.
Founding lodges help build the evidence:
- baseline numbers recorded at the start
- permission to publish their results
- a reference call for a future lodge owner
I work with one lodge per lake. From the base package, each system is scoped to the lodge’s size and goals.
Founding Lodge investment
$397 /month
CAD plus GST, locked for 24 months. $9,528 in total, 74% below the system’s stated value.
The build alone is worth more than the full 24-month fee.
